Parents of current and future IB students are involved in an important decision-making process regarding the education of their child and may be keen to understand the IB programmes as well as the challenges and advantages they may bring.

The curriculum focuses on the heart as well as the mind and addresses social, physical, emotional and cultural needs as well as academic ones. The traditional academic subjects are valued. In addition, there is an emphasis on the balance between the acquisition of essential knowledge and skills and the search for meaning and understanding. The programme provides opportunities for learners to construct meaning through inquiry and builds on the excitement and motivation for learning.

Students will develop an understanding of the IB learner profile. The ten aspirational qualities of the learner profile inspire and motivate the work of teachers, students and schools, providing a statement of the aims and values of the IB.
