Dear Community,
We are looking forward to celebrate our annual Winter Art and Music Festival this Friday at 6 pm in the CCN Weimarhalle.
It will be an exciting evening watching our students performing in the spirit of the 70ies.

Jan Blake at ThIS Weimar
Dear Parents,
Tomorrow evening we will host Jan Blake the story teller.
I have been told that her presentation in the community was a memorable and unforgettable event, "ein unvergessliches Ereignis." She is well understood as she speaks with voice, song and body language. Romina Voigt will translate into German, though Ms. Blake is easy to understand for those with limited English skills.
Everyone is welcome, children and adults. There is seating for about 200. Attached is the map with the access to the new gym.
We very much look forward to an evening filled with joy and laughter.

morgen Abend wird Jan Blake, eine Geschichten- und Märchenerzählerin aus England mit jamaikanischen Wurzeln, bei uns zu Gast sein.
Uns wurde berichtet, dass ihre "Präsentationen" einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen. Sie erzählt ihre Geschichten unter Einsatz aller ihr zur Verfügung stehenden Mittel - Stimme, Gestik und Mimik. Daher ist sie auch für ein nicht englisch sprechendes Publikum sehr gut zu verstehen. Nichtsdestotrotz wird Frau Romina Voigt das Ganze ins Deutsche übersetzen.
Es sind alle ganz herzlich willkommen und eingeladen - Kinder und Erwachsene. Es werden Sitzplätze für 200 Personen zur Verfügung stehen.
Beigefügt finden Sie einen Lageplan, worauf Sie den Zugang zur neuen Sporthalle sehen können, wo das Event stattfinden wird.
Wir alle freuen uns sehr auf einen Abend voller Freude und dem ein oder anderen herzlichen Lachen.

News from Japan
Dear Community,
Today we received a letter from the City mayor of Kamakura which I would like to share with you.
Obviously not just our students enjoyed the visit of the Japanese guests very much.

ThIS participated in "6. Weimarer Freiwilligen-Tag" (Volunteer-Day)
Ten members of our school helped to tidy up the playground across the street. 28(!!!) tons of sand had to be moved, weeds to be picked and jungle gyms to be mended.
Six hours of hard work were necessary before the crew of helpers could invite the impatiently waiting children from the neighbourhoods to repossess their favourite playground.
Another two students helped to maintain the historical cemetery and took part in the coffee afternoon in the elderly home.
Way to go ThIS Students!

Welcome to the new school year!
We are excited to be back and look forward to a year of learning. Teaching children is very special as it provides us with opportunities for making a difference in a child's life.

Dear Families,
Thank you all for helping to make yesterday's celebration successful. Everyone had fun.
For those who will be at school please consider attending the following events.
9:00
Mr. Grafe will officially thank the IHK in a brief ceremony for the donation of 8 "gently used" computers. The press should be present. This will take about 15 minutes or so.
10:00-11:30
The "David Orlowsky Trio" is on tour in Weimar at the Spiegelzelt and will stop by the school for a performance. The stipend paid is made possible by our Sponsor Association the Förderverein.
We wish everyone an enjoyable weekend.
